I know, I know – this post is long overdue! This year I was fortunate enough to take place in the Sitecore 2023 Hackathon, and even more fortunate to be a member on one of the winning teams!
For those of you that may not be aware, Sitecore Hackthon is an organized event where teams from across the globe will have 24 hours to build and submit a Sitecore module best implementing the idea for the Hackathon. The ideas this year were as follows:

- Best enhancement to SXA Headless
- Best Enhancement to XM Cloud
- Best Migration Module to move from XP (traditional) to XM Cloud/Content Hub One/Headless CMS
Needless to say, this years topics were TOUGH. At the time of the competition, XM Cloud was still very new to everyone and honestly so was SXA Headless. This left our team scrambling for ideas. We knew that if we wanted to win we would have to compete in one of the tougher categories and we knew we’d have to build something that would resonate with a lot folks.
Our team landed on the third and final category, Best Migration Module to move from XP (traditional) to XM Cloud/Content Hub One/Headless CMS.
After landing on a topic, we needed to hone in on an idea for a submission. I’ll circle back and create a follow up post that focuses on the technical what and how of what we ended up building, but long story short – we came up with the idea of building a module to help accelerate the migration from XP to Headless. How exactly did we do this? By building a “Scriban to React” powershell extension for Sitecore. Yay Powershell!
